Review of the Year 2016-17
This year, MSTA has delivered over 3000 hours of staff training through our well-established programme of CPD events and courses. We have provided leadership development, coaching and mentoring to aspiring leaders and mentoring support to those undertaking senior and middle leadership development.
A particular highlight of the year was MSTA's involvement in a jointly funded research project with London South Bank University (LSBU). The research project entitled "Understanding the sensory world of children and young people on the autism spectrum with a view to developing best practice in teaching and learning" is a pilot project taking place in five Merton primary schools during this academic year.
On 29th March 2017, MSTA hosted a conference at The Wimbledon Club, SW19 entitled "Children with Autism - Understanding their Sensory World" which reported on the mid-project findings.
Over 20 Organisations and schools sent delegates to the conference which was kindly supported by XCIS Education, SMART Teachers, National Autistic Society and Loddon Training and Consultancy.
